The sibling of the Seaside town killer revealed his family "lost control" of their child and he worried his brother would kill a member of their household, a public inquiry has heard.

Axel Rudakubana, a teenager, fatally attacked three youngsters at a Taylor Swift-themed dance workshop on July 29, 2024.

The official investigation, sitting at a civic building, learned the attacker's brother the older brother informed a friend there was a danger of his relative "taking action that could kill."

The inquiry was told the brother messaged his contact over the online platform: "The fights are frightening because of the danger of someone dying."

The sibling testified his relative reminded him of the sociopathic murderer in the picture No Country For Old Men.

Increasing Conflict

The hearing heard Dion was identified with a neuromuscular disorder at the early teens which caused him relying on a chair and his mother and father offering greater support.

'Serious fears'

The brother said his brother became much more aggressive after he was dismissed from his school in the local area, in that period.

He left for university in that year and the brothers spoke less and less "because he was not familiar with having me around."

The inquiry was informed of a note the brother sent to a acquaintance on Discord in which he mentioned his sibling was annoyed by him speaking late at night because of the limited soundproofing in their residence.

He additionally informed his associate there was a danger of "him taking action that could kill."

He stated: "Arguments are scary because of the risk of a fatality."

The lawyer inquired: "You held real worries that your relative would kill a member of your family?"

Dion responded: "In case matters intensified to that extent."

The counsel questioned how his family dealt with the attacker's violent behaviour.

"It was pointless to attempt to discipline him," he said. "Additionally, there was a heavy risk in doing so.
